Majority of full spectrum CBD oils are made with an extract that typically contains in detectable amounts the cannabinoids CBD, CBG, CBC, CBN, Delta 8 THC and THC.  This extract also contains other phytonutrients such as terpenes which is blended in a carrier oil such as, hemp seed oil, which is rich in essential fatty acids.

26. What is broad spectrum CBD oil?

Similar to full spectrum CBD, except that the THC has been removed using a process called flash chromatography.

27. What is CBD oil made from isolate?

This is a type of CBD oil which is made using an isolated extract that only contains pure cannabidiol.

28. What strength CBD oil should I use?

To determine what strength you should use, is a matter of personal preference after you have determined what dose you require.  Ideally using a low strength CBD, you should slowly increase your dose and frequency for your desired result.

Once you know what dose you require, then you may want to choose a strength of CBD oil in order to reduce the intake volume.

For example, if your required dose is 20mg cannabidiol, then:

1. If using a 10ml 250mg (2.5%) CBD oil, you would need to take 16 drops, as each drop contains 1.25mg cannabidiol.

2. You may want to reduce the intake of volume, so you could change over to a 10ml 500mg (5%) CBD oil, and know you would only require 8 drops, as each drop contains 2.5mg cannabidiol.

29. How much Cannabidiol is in CBD products?

The are many CBD products available on the market in different strengths, sizes and formats.  The best way to determine how much Cannabidiol is present in any product is to check the label and also you can ask for lab test results for verification.

30. How much Cannabidiol is in CBD oils?

This is a very important question, especially for users who are new to using CBD oils.  Majority of CBD oils are made from a hemp extract which contains CBD and a carrier oil such as hemp seed oil which the extract in mixed with to form a finished product known as CBD oil.

Especially for products made with a carrier oil, it is important to know how much cannabidiol is present as this is what will differentiate a CBD oil from a plain hemp oil that has no cannabinoids such as cannabidiol.

Examples of Cannabidiol content in CBD oils

We are going to base the following examples on a 10ml bottle being equal to 200 drops and a 30ml bottle is equivalent to 600 drops.

Full Spectrum Water Soluble CBD (1.75%) 175mg Organic Extract Drops 10ml

This product has 175mg of cannabidiol, which equates to 0.88mg per drop and a typical serving of 11 drops will give you a serving size of 9.6mg of CBD.  Although this dose is considerably low, this water soluble product has a bioavailability 5 times greater than conventional CBD oil.

Full Spectrum CBD 5% 500mg Hemp Oil 10ml

The 500mg 10ml CBD is one of the most popular strengths sold and a great starting point for beginners too.  You get 2.5mg of CBD per drop which is great for starting low and increasing the dose slowly. A typical dose is 4 drops, which gives you 10mg of cannabidiol and incrementing by 2.5mg is a great way to find your required dose.

Full Spectrum CBD 10% 1000mg Sunflower Oil 10ml

Now you get a product that is double strength of the 500mg version, giving you 5mg of CBD per drops and a dose 20mg cannabidiol for every 4 drops.  This version is also equivalent of the same dose per drop as the 10% 30ml version.

Full Spectrum CBD 15% 1500mg Sunflower Oil 10ml

The 15% 10ml gives you 7.5mg CBD per drop and a typical dose of 2 drops with give you 15mg of cannabidiol.

Broad Spectrum CBD 10% 3000mg Sunflower Oil Drops 30ml

For those who know their dose, the 30ml CBD versions can be a great way of getting more for a better price.  This 30ml is equivalent of the 10% 10ml CBD oil, with each drop containing 5mg of CBD and 20mg total cannabidiol per serving of 4 drops.

31. Why does CBD taste so strong?

The strong taste of the product will depend on how the product is made and is typically to do with compounds such as terpenes and plant material such as waxes.

RAW CBD oil is a product that contains a majority of the hemps plants nutrients such as terpenes, waxes, lipids, flavonoids and chlorophyll.  These nutrients are responsible for the products bitter taste, however this is the closest you will get to a "whole plant" experience.

Organic CBD oil is a filtered product that has the harsh waxes, lipids and chlorophyll removed leaving you will a beautiful golden coloured oil.  However, the terpenes remain intact which are responsible for the hemp/cannabis taste which not everyone finds palatable.

Finally, you have pure CBD oils which are made with just a carrier oil and CBD isolate.  Here, it will be the choice of carrier oil that gives the product is taste, which is a mild earthy taste if using hemp seed oil and an even milder taste if using oils such as sunflower seed oil or especially MCT oil.

If taste, is a real issue then you can also find pure CBD oils that are also flavoured with for example, mint flavouring.

The other alternative is to try a different format of CBD product such as capsules that will bypass you having to taste the product.

32. How quickly does it take CBD to be effective in the body?

This depends on the types of product you are using, but as a general guide CBD vapes are the fastest acting, followed by CBD oil, products that are ingested such as capsules and then finally topical creams.

33. How long will Cannabidiol stay in the body?

Several factors are at play here which decide how long the compound will stay in the body.  This is based on the format of the product, your own metabolising and the amount of cannabidiol you have consumed.  The half-life of cannabidiol is between 18-32 hours, the time taken for the amount to halve in the body.

34. What are the warnings or restrictions associated with CBD products?

As a responsible seller of cannabinoid products, we issue the following warnings and product restrictions:

- That our products are not to be used as a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.

- Not to be used during pregnancy or while breast feeding.

- That the product may interact with medicines and a medical doctor should be consulted before use.

- To not exceed the recommended daily limit of cannabidiol. 70mg.

- To keep out of reach of children.

All of our products are restricted for use by people of the age of 18 years or older, as described by our Terms and Conditions.

35. Can CBD products be abused for controlled compounds?

The amount of THC or CBN in our full spectrum CBD products is present in negligible amounts and would not be of a large enough concentration to cause any risk of harm or abuse.  Similarly, the low concentrations of THC and CBN would make it extremely difficult for anyone to extract a meaningful amount of these compounds from the products to be a concern of abuse.
